Sodium sulfite reducing agent

 Basic Information:

        Anhydrous sodium sulfite, white crystal or powder; odorless. This product is soluble in water, very slightly soluble in ethanol, and almost insoluble in ether. Dissolved in water (12.54g/100ml water at 0°C; 28.3g/100ml water at 80°C), the solubility is about 28% at 33.4°C, the aqueous solution is alkaline, and the pH is about 9~9.5. Slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in liquid chlorine, ammonia. It is easily oxidized to sodium sulfate in the air and decomposed into sodium sulfide in case of high temperature. In order to strengthen the reducing agent, it reacts with sulfur dioxide to form sodium hydrogen sulfite, and reacts with a strong acid to form a corresponding salt.

Uses

        1. Anhydrous sodium sulfite is used for film development

        2. The chemical industry is used as a reducing agent and a sulfonating agent;

        3. Dechlorination agents and bleaching agents in the printing and dyeing industry;

        4. Stabilizers for chemical fibers, etc.

Storage and transportation attention

       Store in a cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Keep away from the heat of the fire. The package is sealed and must not be in contact with air. Do not store and transport with oxidants, strong acids and hazardous materials. This product is deliquescent and should not be stored for a long time. Protect from rain and sun exposure when transporting.
